Penske was looking to solve the issue of not knowing the health of their truck in real-time. To provide predictive maintenance for their trucks to ultimately drive a better customer experience with less trucks breaking down on the road.

How did they solve the problem?

Penske processes around 165 million IoT messages a day using Confluent as their messaging queue. Then they run those messages through their proactive diagnostics AI/ML model, to help predict when a truck is going to fail. With that information, plus the knowledge of where the truck is right now, Penske can call the customer and ask them to bring the truck in, or schedule the maintenance that’s needed.
